Hang Gliding Accident

Yesterday they released a web video of an almost catastrophic hang gliding flight in Switzerland.

Several friends and students sent me the images asking what might have happened.

In our operation at Pedra Bonita ramp in São Conrado, RJ, the possibility of a flight starting with someone disengaged is nil. Before the flight, we hooked up our students and we are hang-checked by the ramp inspectors prior to takeoff clearance. In addition to the coupling, safety equipment and wing assembly are checked.

With this safety procedure, we can say that we have the safest hang gliding or paragliding instruction operation in the world.
