Hang Gliding in Rio - Tandem Flight 

 

The hang gliding tandem flight in Rio de Janeiro, also called as instructional tandem flight, hang glider jump and even delta flight, can be performed by people with no previous experience.

​

Side by side with a qualified instructor by the Brazilian Free Flight Confederation (CBVL), and after a brief training, you can take off from the Pedra Bonita take off site inside Tijuca´s Nacional Park. 
During the flight you can soar over the Atlantic Forest and  beautiful houses, with the magnific view of the main tourist points in Rio.
The landing happens over the sands of São Conrado beach.

How long is the hang gliding flight?

It depends on the climbing condition and the weight of the student. In general, flights last between 6 and 20 minutes. The total activity takes around one hour and a half since the meeting point, flight registration, way up to the take off site, traning, flight and midea tranfer. 

 

What clothes should I wear on the day?

Tennis shoes, shorts and blouse. The ideal is to dress like going to the gym. No flip flops are recommended

Is there a minimum age for hang gliding?

The minimum age for instructional flight is 14 years, but accompanied by parents or legal guardians, with publication of both if under 18 years. If the guardians do not match, there is a procedure for sending records to the club secretary.

What is the weight limit for hang gliding?

The maximum limit for paragliding flights is 120kg/265lb and 95kg/209lb for hang gliding. These values ​​may vary slightly depending on weather conditions and student height.

Should the hang glider flight be booked in advance?

Sooner you book your flight, better it is. There are days when demand is very high and available vacancies run out quickly. Each instructor of our team can fly only for times a day.

Can I bring my GoPro or cell phone to record the flight?

Use of any object that may fall and hit a person or vehicle on the ground is not permitted. But don't worry, we record every moment with good quality sport camera.
